My Samsung Note 3 was stolen a couple of months ago. I didn't have insurance on it, so I saw no need to report it. Friends told me that it would be chopped up and to forget about it. I'm currently using my old Droid. Is this any reason for me to report the theft? Please advise. Thanks.

You don't have to, but I would as Verizon can add the serial number to the negative database to prevent the theif or anyone else from ever activating the device on any carrier again.
