Software update popping out on screen

Q: Today Samsung Galaxy Note3 software update popping out on the screen constantly and it's annoying.  How do I shut it off for good. Knowing many people already having problem with this update software on their phone in this community forum.  I am afraid to update this software now.  Many suggest to put the phone on Air plane mode.  This would shut off everything and the phone is unusable.

You maybe able to prevent it from downloading for a short while before it automatically installs without your input.  I don't think you can stop it from downloading permanently.
