Switching from an Iphone to a Samsung s9 and I'm not getting text messages. They were still going to my iphone so turned off the imessage and signed out of my iPhone? I can send text messages and people get them but I don't get their response.

Try to deregister iMessage this is the link: Deregister and Turn Off iMessage - Apple Support  that shows you how when you do all your texts will come as texts messages to the S9 instead of them going to iMessage and the iPhone not being on. That is what my friend and I did and then all the messages came through.

you have to send messages to their email address.
