Unlocking my old S5

I recently upgraded to an S9. The contract on my S5 expired long ago. I reset it to factory standards. I sent it to a friend in need in Venezuela. Did the reset unlock it or is there something else that she needs do?

That's nice of you to send your S5 to your friend in Venezuela. I know it's important to make sure the phone is unlocked for your friend and I'll be happy to help. The factory reset will bring the S5 back to default settings. This will erase any previous phone locks. Is your friend having issues activating the phone? If so, what's going on?
