How do I transfer media from my Android to my PC or iPad?
To transfer media from the phone to your PC, you can connect the phone and computer via the USB cable, pull down the phone's notification shade and change the USB mode to File Transfer, then 'drag and drop' the files. Another option is to upload the files to a cloud-based service (such as Google Drive) and then download them to your computer.
My PC does not “see” any files from my Android phone. What setting(s) can I change to allow transfer of my media form my phone to my PC?

Which phone do you have? When you connected the USB cable, did you pull down the phone's notification shade and change the USB mode from charging to File Transfer? Have you tried a different USB port?
Samsung Android Samsung Galaxy SM-G930V
Yes, upon pulling the shutter down “File Transfer” was indicated. Yes, I tried a different USB port.
The pop up indicated that no new files were found on the device.
There is no file transfer option in the long pull-down notifications with the S7. You have to activate the Developer options to change the USB configuration from charging to MTP (Media Transfer Protocol). To access the Developer options, you have to click on About phone in the settings, then click 7 times on Build number. I have no clue why this is so difficult.
I've also no clue why some users report issues with transferring media since it should work as noted earlier, i.e.:

I understand the importance of making sure that you transfer your memories to your computer Hallcell0493 and it should not be this difficult. Have you tried a different computer? Here http://spr.ly/65818AnfF are the instructions on being able to do that.
