my phone keeps shutting off

Have had my phone for about 2 weeks now. Charged it last night, and when I got up this morning the phone was turned off. I turned it back on (it was fully charged), started using it, no problem. A couple of hours later, I picked it back up and it was turned off again. Can anyone explain what's happening? Hope I didn't get a lemon.

I've seen something similar to this happening before and it's usually 1 of 3 things.

1. An app isn't playing nice with the phone software.

2. The phone software itself is glitching somehow

3. It's the actual hardware of the phone itself.

Easiest way to narrow down if it's an app or not is by putting the device in safe mode.  If the phone is stable in safe mode, it's definitely an app.  Then it's just the matter of finding which one.

If the phone is still crashing in safe mode, it might be software and to repair that it's going to be a factory reset on the device so back up your information first!
