Wifi connected.   Can't get security updates on galaxy 5

Turn off Wi-Fi and use Mobile data for updates, also use the AC charger while getting the update. If any updates are available this will work for you.

I turned off wifi and attached the account adapter like you said. It still

will not do a security update

This time first Reboot your phone, make sure Mobile is on, and Ac charger connected with wi-fi off.

At this point I would go into a Verizon Corp Store and let a manager try to do any updates that are needed.
