I find it extremely frustrating that I can only use both data and calling features while connect to 4G services. GPS, for instance, does not work while I'm driving around and need it the most (If I'm on a phone call). Even sitting at home, I cannot receive group/picture messages or emails while I'm on the phone because I'm on wi-fi. One of the purposes of a smart phone, in my opinion, is to be able to multi-task... this is impossible if I can only be on a call, or only be on the internet, or only be on GPS. Please fix this!!!!!
Do you have HD Voice enabled? As you may know if HD Voice is enabled your able to do voice/data at the same time.

I'm guessing you have this enabled already and are still having challenges? Especially since you tagged the post with advanced calling. I recall hearing that SMS/MMS don't always come thru when on a cellular call. Are you in a 4G area when experiencing these challenges? Are you using Verizon Messages+? I ask because some have reported better success with SMS/MMS while on a call since it is compatible with Wi-Fi.
yes, i do have HD Voice enabled. I use Verizon Messages+ but my husband uses the SMS/MMS and he still continues to have problems. Yes, I am in a 4G area, but it's frustrating that it doesn't work if I'm on wifi, like when I'm at home....
ttrammell, we want you to use that phone to it's full potential. Sorry for any frustration that this equipment matter may have caused you. Let's make sure that Mobile Data is enabled on in Settings>Data Usage>Mobile Data Switch ON. Next, restart your phone and keep us posted.
