Group Text Messages stuck sending OFTEN with all 3 messaging apps

I have a Google Pixel Pro with Verizon, I can't group chat with anyone that uses a iPhone, after bit of texting, it just sits there saying sending, but doesn't send and I don't get anything either, then 20 minutes later everything goes though all at one and get 20 texts.

 

I can't find a solution anywhere. Unreal this is an issue in 2022.. smh..

I'm on an android, s21 - I don't have any issues sending or receiving individual texts . There is no difference when connected via wi-fi or data . I've experience this issue on either connection. 

 

Just a overview. This is only occurring on group texts with heavy back and forth messaging (in my case, 11 contacts within group) -

jincs151k, I have the Galaxy S21 Ultra and I love that phone so much.  Texting is my main means of communication and any issues with group texting would cause me so many headaches.  Do not worry we will get this figured out.  Have you recently changed from an iPhone to your current Android?  Have you used an iPhone in the past?  Do you currently use an iPad or have you used an iPad in the past?

I was here for some assistance. It seems like a dead end. To answer your question. No I never had an iphone/ipad.

They won't solve this for you.  It's been a known issue since 2016.

There's an issue on Verizon network between android and Apple devices.  Their network thinks many group texts between them are spam so they delay them for 15mins on the dot.

You'll see other threads with similar stories and they just placate you with these replies and efforts.  It's totally ridiculous.  I've been on the phone with them for hours, been in the store talking about, texting tech support, etc.  They'll never admit they have a network issue and act like you're the first to bring up the issue.

@AARKOV7   Do you know if other networks do this? This has been a big issue for me for a while now since I'm in a lot of group texts, and if they refuse to fix it, I'll just leave verizon if that's ultimately the only way to solve this.

We'd be sad to see you leave the Verizon Wireless family. We never want there to be a delay in sending your text messages to a group. Can you please confirm for me what make and model device you are using? What text message app are you using on the device?

Ken, what dont you understand. That this is a Verizon issue. And has been for years. The make and model and messaging app don't matter. This has been going for 4 years for me. I'm in a group chat with 2 iPhone users and anytime we start messaging each other it "times out" for 15 to 30 minutes. Then magically the service to the group chat will reconnect and I'll receive a bunch of texts at once. But while this is going on I still have full service of all applications and can still text people individually. At first I thought this was a Samsung problem as it started when I had the Samsung Galaxy S10+ but then I got a Pixel 6 Pro and it's the same thing. So your questions about make and model make no difference. It is a problem with Verizon network and group chatting individuals who use iPhones when you have an Android flagship.

Yeah, this literally has been happening on every. Single. Device. For years when you have a ~very~ active group chat. And they will run you in circles making you think it's you and your phone or something you did. But about 8 different phones later over 5 years and the problem still persists. It's Verizon, but as always, they will never take the blame themselves. I can't wait to ditch them

Yeah same issue for me. Think I'll make some more public posts about this issue so people know to avoid Verizon. Maybe if enough folks stop switching over and leave, they'll look into it more seriously.

This is the most annoying problem.  Thank you for the responses.  I kept thinking it was an android problem. It's Verizon and the 15 min thing is spot on. I literally just watched a text or mine sit "sending" and the second it hit 15 min it went through and all the previous texts from other people came through. 

I've been a Verizon wireless customer for 23 years and this is the first time I seriously am thinking of dropping them. The ridiculous responses from customer support are insulting.  If they aren't aware of this issue, despite it going on for years, then they are showing their ineptness at. customer support.  If they are aware and playing dumb, then that's just as bad.

Same problem here. It has been happening more frequently. No issues with phone. No issues with service. Problem only exists when related to group text. All of a sudden, the text gets stuck. You can see individual texts from responding participants being received (as opposed to a single group text) but pending . 20 ish minutes later, they all start coming back in the single group text chain.  It happens several times a day. There are about 11 individuals within the group.

After trying everything from all kinds of threads on other sites and the Verizon site. This is clearly a widespread problem. I got on the phone with a customer service rep and was ultimately told my group messages are being de prioritized due because I have the cheapest unlimited plan. Have to pay more to have group messages sent correctly apparently. Need to switch to another service provider. That's just absurd.

 

And yes to whatever rep replies to this, I've tried all the apps, cleared, data, reset networks, etc. You name it and I've done it.
