I have blocked a contact on my phone but they are still able to leave a voicemail. Is there a way to block them from leaving at voicemail?

The block created by the phone itself only sends the caller directly to the voicemail system. You can sign into your MyVerizon account online and add the number to the five free blocks which will prevent them calling including reaching your voicemail or from them sending you text messages.
