I cannot send SMS messages since about 1/1/2023. I can receive them, but I can't send them. I can both send and receive MMS messages.
Anyone else having this issue? I have done a LOT of troubleshooting.

I don't get a specific error message, only an indicator that the SMS text is "sending." Ultimately I get a notice that the text failed to send.
I have spent a few hours with customer support and have at least succeeded in getting a ticket on the matter up to the network folks. I am hopeful but frankly not optimistic.
I have reset network settings and apps. I have toggled airplane mode on and off. I have factory reset the phone and tried safe mode. I have tried a new sim card. No joy. Since I can send and receive MMS but only receive SMS, I am suspicious that it is an SMSC issue, but I understand that number to be embedded in the sim card?
I have been a Verizon customer for about12 years without major issues. I really, really don't want to make a change in providers, but this ought to be solvable. I am convinced it is some glitch within the Verizon system.
