You can see the numbers but not the texts. You'd need to physically pick up her phone to read the messages.
One caveat to what Snn5 has stated is that IF she is signed up for Verizon Messages + AND you have the login information for her MyVerizon account, you would be able to view messages online. If she deletes them on her phone, though, they would also be deleted from viewing them online.
Of course no iMessages sent between iPhones with an active iMessage account would be viewable with this method.
