I finally received the dreaded notice from Verizon that I'll lose some channels going to the new 2010 Extreme HD package in late July here in Tampa after having the 2009 Extreme package for about a year. They sent a link with a list of channels and there were only about 10 channels listed that I'll lose (all the .TV channels, MGM, Hallmark Movies, etc.). There is no mention of CBS Sports and the 3 regional Fox Sports channels (Atlantic, Central, West). I see all of these sports channels are NOT in the 2010 Extreme HD package. Does anyone know for sure if those of us who were on the old 2009 Extreme HD will lose these sports channels too? The link below lists the channels and states that we'll lose these channels if we had the Extreme HD package prior to 1/17/10. So it makes it sound like we'll keep those sports channels.
Also, there is no mention of the price increase here. I'm guessing that this package will go from $57.99 to $74.99. Anyone know for sure? Kinda bummed about a 32% rate increase although it was expected. Never experienced that kind of obscene price hike from a TV provider before. (Don't have internet and phone with VZ since my employer pays for those).
Thanks.

While you will lose those channels listed, the sports channels will remain unless you change your package, in which case you can never go back. I believe this whole shift is to balance out wholesale costs of different channels vs. what they are charging for the packages.

Caps: Thanks for the info. It would have been nice to keep MGM HD and Hallmark Movies as others have stated on these forums, but glad to hear we'll be able to keep those sports channels. I'm assuming they already changed the package in your market. Did your price change to the 2010 Extreme HD package price?
Jumpin: The .tv channels are cars.tv, pets.tv, comedy.tv, etc. Have to admit I've stopped on those channels in the past, but don't really care too much about losing those.

My price didn't change, but I have the price guarantee for another year.

I have never seen programming on the .tv channels. In my guide, they all say paid programming which we all know are info-mercials. Its a shame we have to pay for those. Of course I get home from work late and when I watch television it is usually 9 pm so maybe there is something on them during the day.
