We have Verizon FIOS and latest router. We have never streamed anything to our tv yet want to start watching 4k. Is our only chance to do this to use something like NetFlix? And if so, I am assuming there is a $10+/month charge for this. Any thoughts are welcome.
No cable company currently has a STB that supports 4K as there is no channel broadcasting in 4K.
I have seen other people posting about streaming in 4K. Verizon would have no additional charge. It would be up to the channel provider.
Different TV, but I have streamed many 4k including some with HDR to the TV's app. The STB is not involved but the router is. It works best with either a fast WIFI, many of Verizon's older router models might not be able to handle it, or a wired connection.
