Looks like Verizon is adding ESPN 3D. http://www.multichannel.com/article/465547-ESPN_3D_Coming_To_Verizon_FiOS_April_5.php So instead of adding the HD channels WE ALL WANT they are adding a 3D channel to appease the few dozen people who may actually have 3D TV's. Does Verizon even care what it's viewers actually want!?!?!?!?!?! I am really starting to regret renewing my FiOS subscription last year.

There are a few channels that have been reserved. ESPN 3D is one of them. They had already added it to the line up (last year), they were just waiting for their systems to be able to display it properly. They are just now rolling out the 3D system to the STB's so now they are going to turn on the channel.

Quote from the article
Verizon reached the agreement to carry ESPN 3D last fall, as part of a broader carriage deal with ESPN Media Networks

Its not like it is cutting in line ahead of the HD channels or anything. It was alloted before they ran out of room. They are just now able to display it correctly.

Besides 3D is more popular than you would think. And since DTV already rolled out 3D. Verizon is falling behind and they want to be known as cutting edge.
