Audio Issues (Sound Dropping in / out)

I have the Triple Play bundle. For FIOS TV: I currently use HD HomeRun tuner and rent cable card. The tuner is hard-wired directly to the router.

I use a Mac mini, running Windows 8.1 so I can use Windows Media Center to watch and record live TV. I use my receiver to manage all the connections to the various devices (everything is using HDMI cables). Both the Mac mini and also the receiver are also hard-wired to connect directly to the router. Other notes about the setup: I have a Samsung Smart TV.

About 2 weeks ago, I started experiencing isssues with audio dropping in / out sporadically for any HD channels (broadcast network and subscription channels). However, it's been more frequent. I have made changes to the receiver settings for audio output, such that it's not Auto - but changed it to be DTS.

Since I do not have a set-top box, I would appreciate any recommendations.
