Ever since Verizon came out with the new Motorola set top box I have had a problem with audio and video being out of sync on two of my favorite channels. Three set top boxes and on HDMI cable later I still had the problem....Until, by pure curiosity I went to Menu - Settings - Audio & Video - Audio Format and voila! Was set to Surround on my TV which does not have surround. Switched to Stereo and the problem is gone. I don't feel like holding again for a tech rep so maybe thet will read this and use it for other customers.
Chanel the audio output.
With TV playing press stb power, ok, then menu without a pause in between. You should get a white settings screen. Arrow down to additional hdmi settings and press right arrow. On the next screen arrow to audio output. Then press right arrow until setting changes to L-PCM. Then press menu button until pic comes back.
If this is a dvr and you are recording a show, you will not be able to get into this menu
Thanks but on my TV pressing stb power immediately turns off the everything.
What model # dvr do you have?
Worth a try.............I spent over an hour on the phone with Tech this a.m. and problem NOT resolved - they are going
to ship out a new HDMI cable which I don't think will help at all.
I had the same issue with the Arris Multi-room DVR, here is what I did:
1) Press the green "D" key on the remote for 10 seconds
2) A white menu will appear, go to "02 User Settings"
3) Scroll down to "Additoinal HDMI Settings"
4) Scroll down to "Audio Output", arrow right until you see "L-PCM"
5) Exit out of the menu and you're done.
We have suffered the same and finally the right search we found your solution, it worked for us too.
Thanks!
