Finally, BBC America HD is up and running on HD Ch 689.

Exciting, isn't it? From the official press release....

Found on Channel 689, BBC AMERICA HD is available in FiOS TV’s Extreme HD and Ultimate HD packages.  BBC AMERICA is already available in standard definition on FiOS TV Channel 189.  Verizon also plans to add BBC AMERICA HD to its FiOS TV Video on Demand offering soon. 

The HD launch on FiOS TV comes just in time for the start of BBC AMERICA’s newest series,“COPPER,” from Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson, Emmy-winner Tom Fontana and Academy Award-nominee Will Rokos.  The series – a gripping drama set in 1864 New York City and filled with intrigue, corruption and mystery – premieres Sunday (Aug. 19) at 10 p.m. ET/PT.  Other popular shows include “Doctor Who,” “Top Gear,” “The Graham Norton Show” and Dramaville’s acclaimed miniseries “The Hour” and “Luther,” for which Idris Elba won a Golden Globe.

Luther is quite amazing and I was very happy that Idris won the GG. It was well deserved. Thanks again for BBC America HD. Maybe TCM next?????????

If they ever showed anything in HD, that'd be good.  But I'd rather see a true HD channel first...maybe FEARNet or CARTOON.  But I'll take BBC-HD for now...at least it's in English!
