Can firetv cube turn off stb?

My firetv cube works well with FiOS.  However when the cube turns the TV on the FiOS screen is there that says hit any key to view..... which means the stb box was on.  Anyway to have the cube shutdown the TV and stb?  Thanks

The Fios box never really shuts off. There is always a screensaver on, and that's what you are seeing. Your cube or TV is actually turning it off, as far as it can be.
