I am a new FIOS customer (Since March 2010). Although I am very happy with the service, I do not like the Home Media DVR. We switched from TiVo, but wish to use our TiVo Boxes again. I was hoping someone might know whether or not I will be charged a penalty for canceling the Home Media DVR service and instead rent cable cards.
Thanks in advance for your response.
This post would do better in the FiOS TV Technical Assistance area or possibly the My Verizon residential accounts.
The bundle commitment is for the bundle. Equipment changes will not cause that to change. Get the cards and have them working before you give up your DVR boxes. I have a single Tivo HD and have been happy with it. Depending on what Tivo boxes you have and your subscription, it may save you a bundle of money. $3.99 x 2 is much better than $19.95 x 2. You may miss your VOD and widgets if you use them. Believe it of not, I was rather used to my favorites feature. I wish Tivo would have a better configuration for that. If you only have the 2 DVRs, you may want to consider at least one Verizon STB SD or HD. I have 2 - QIP2500 SD boxes the Tivo and a digital adaptor. My HD all is Tivo, and I love the native pass through. MY 46" LCD TV does a much better job of deciding what the picture should look like.
Thank you. That is what I thought, but I just wanted confirmation.
Have a great day!
