College football as described on the program guide 8/30/2014:
ABC 7:30 PM - 11:00 PM
'The 2013 Mountain West Champion Bulldogs look to start off their season on the right foot in the Coliseum against the Trojans of USC..'
MSG 7:00 PM - 10:30 PM
'The Bulldogs look to start their season off with a win in Fort Worth, Texas, where the "Air Raid" offense of the Horned Frogs awaits'.
Ok, which Bulldogs are playing USC and which are playing the other team? I'm I supposed to go on the interned to find out which Bulldogs won the 2013 Mountain West Championship in order to grasp whats supposed to be a simple program description? Fine, Fresno State.
Now lets go to the Horned Frogs game. Will they be playing Stamford Bulldogs or Georgia Bulldogs?
Stop trying to be fancy. Just give me the name on the college and I'll be happy.
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
Hooray! Problem solved. In the college football descriptions, on the first line, it simply states who is playing. Maybe somebody from Verizon actually read our complaints and took the appropriate corrective action. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

have to agree whole heartedly with nobrun. couldn't bleive that verizon would put on such a vague description for a number of games. PLEASE list the colleges playing, not the team name.i also had no idea which bulldogs, cowboys, or leaping lizards were playing. especially with all these smaller conferences please, please, please fix this before this coming saturday

September 6.
Who are the "20th ranked Wildcats versus the Cyclones". Who knows? I don't have any idea, and I really don't care to take the time to look it up. Whoever writes the descriptions of college football games must be STOOPID! Why write descriptions so that practically no one can understand who is actually playing?
I have an idea. At the very beginning of each game description, why not write something intelligible, like "Kentucky at Ohio State", or "Auburn at Florida". At least then I can quickly understand who is playing. First tell me exactly who is playing the game.
Then you can feel free to write whatever stupid comments that you want to.

To whomever writes the descriptions of college football games: In the Fios TV program guide, the way that football games are decribed now is useless, unacceptable, and downright dumb! Why can't you tell me specifically who is playing?
I have an idea. At the very beginning of the game description, write something that everyone can understand, like "Ohio State at UCLA", or Alabama at Auburn".
Then you can write as many stupid comments that you want to.

This is very annoying and wish they would fix it.
Get rid of the foo-foo descriptions and put the college names in the program description. Don't need some flowery description, just need useful information. What idiot came up with this change?
Totally agree. This is annoying but easily fixed as soon as somebody competent recognizes it.

Add me to the list of people outraged with the full team names not being shown for College Sports in the Guide. In fact I opened a topic it on DSLreports last week about it...
