Connect Panasonic home theater sound system to Arris IPC1100 Set top box

Hi I am using the Arris IPC1100 set top box. It is hooked up to my Sony Bravia TV and Panasonic DVD home theater sound system SC-PT750. The DVD player (Panasonic DVD home thearter sound system SC-PT750) works and I have surround sound when I am watching a DVD. However, I can't fgure out how to get surround sound while watching regular TV/ or when using the Amazon Fire Stick (USB plugged into the TV).  Please help with as much detail as possible (technically challenged)

You need to see if your TV has an audio output (typically optical but might be analog).

Then connect that output to an input of your home theater.

If your TV only has analog (typically would be white and red jacks labelled l and r) then you won't get surround sound.
