DVR keeps updating during prime time

Why does my DVR keep updating during prime time? This is extremely inconvienient & annoying because it always makes me miss approx 2 - 5 minutes of my recordings!!!!!

What model DVR do you have?

It varies from about a week or so to a month or so, seems like it's an update but always seems to be in the middle of a recording!

Do you have your power connected to your DVR overnight (power connected and "powered off"t.  Almost always these updates are done during the night.  If it isn't isn't updated at that time, It will update sometime later when it sees that an update is available.

Yes, of course it's always plugged in, same power strip that my DVD player is plugged into. My DVD player Clock never is off by more than a minute from my DVR.

Are you sure it is getting an update?

Or it could be rebooting?

Or maybe crashing and rebooting.

Meaning it may be on its last legs.

Have you tried to engage support?
