DVR playback from non-Verizon extender

I can play back from my DVR from my FIOS router and over LTE, but not over my Apple Time Capsule extender. Verizon tells me that they don't support non-Verizon extenders. If true, that I must buy a Verizon extender, then that is an illegal tie-in. Nothing I've ever used cares which router/extender I've used. I'm now on my third ticket with Verizon.

By supporting non Verizon extenders, they mean technical support.

I assume you mean via FiOS mobile app.

what error do in you get?

app is supposed to operate over any internet, not just in home.

what device are you using to run app?

have you ever tried it on WiFi outside of your house?
