I don't understand why we can access our DVR through the website and our phones but they haven't made it so that your schedule and settings can be transferred to a new box someway. I have a defective box that has to get replaced and I now have to reschedule everything that i have in my DVR. The other problem is that all of the shows are not on and I have had things set differently so there were no programming conflicts. This really is a big pain for me, and I'm sure for many others. I don't think this should be a big deal to do, it may just be an oversight.
Here are some suggestions:
a box to box transfer through a usb cable or sata cable
the schedule being able to be backed up to
a. flash drive
b. verizon website
c. home computer
and then being imported to the box after setting up and installing
cloning hard drive
If you can program the DVR though the website, it shouldn't be a problem to restore the schedule to a new DVR box. Another suggestion is being able to record to your home computer instead of just an external hard drive.
These are actually very good ideas. You should post them over at the Verizon Idea Exchange.
