[DVR] unable to skip ALL commercials?

I DVRed Big Bang yesterday, sat in bed and watched them with the wife before sleep.  About halfway through the episode I was unable to FF through the commercials.  FIgured it was something wonky with the recording....

I start the second 30 minute episode, half way through, again unable to FF through commercials. 

Why am I being forced to watch comercials?

What do you mean by half way thru? Was it really towards the end, like maybe 3 minutes left? The DVR won't FF too much if there is less than 3 minutes of the show remaining.

Half way through means half way through. Dunnno how to explain it any other way.

Middle of the progress bar? 15 minutes in to a 30 min show?

Was it still being recorded when you started watching it? If so, you may have caught up to the recording spot by skipping earlier ads.
