Epix Is Off

Epix channel 395 in sd and 895 in hd is off by 1 hour. If you are going to try to tape any movie that appears on that channel you will not be taping the beginning of a movie but instead you will be taping the final hour of the previous movie that was on there. Even if a movie is listed on the guide that does not mean that it will be there. "The purple rose of cairo" was listed as something that should have been on this morning but it was not there and instead it was the making of the "saw" movies special with a lot of commercials for future movies that will be appearing on there. The epix package is one that you charge a lot for and it only has two channels in it where epix 2 channel 896 was off last night too by at least a half hour. Many of the movies that appeared on there were not only off by a half hour but the wrong movies were listed on the guide. Last week on saturday night on the guide what was listed was "colors" with sean penn when in fact it was "gi joe" with dennis quaid. The cost of the epix package is pretty high for only two channels so let me suggest to you that maybe you could also add that third epix channel that exists which is called "the 3 from epix" to your lineup if you are going to charge that much for a package. If there were more channels in the epix package then you could justify that price but not only for two channels. Showtime has 15 channels, hbo has 14 channels and cinemax has 12 channels in their packages so another epix channel would not be a bad choice to add to your movie lineup. Also you already have indieplex channel 348 and retroplex channel 349 but the provider of those channels is a company called movieplex which has a channel called "movieplex" that has a lot more movies to offer on that channel that could be added to the lineup.

Hello prisaz. You and i have spoken before about the guide issues and if you look at my history on here you will see that the only reason that i am on here is because of the guide. I have taken it upon myself to try and get the guide corrected not only for myself but for all of my fellow verizon customers who are experiencing the same issues and have nowhere to go. I am well aware of fyi and their incompetence where i have said in the past to get a new guide provider because there are people that i know that have at&t for their tv service and they are having the same problems too because fyi is responsible for the at&t and verizon guide. I think that you were the person that i spoke to on here about verizon adding a channel from peru which could be either sur peru or peru magico which i am trying to get them to add but from what i last saw you said that you had direct tv because you are married to someone from peru who needs to have a channel to watch from there. Verizon must not be aware of how many potential customers they could add if they were to add a channel from peru plus if they were add more to the spanish package then they could add a lot more customers but as of now all they continue to do is add channels from mexico which pretty much have the same content on them when they could be adding more of a variety to that package. Comcast and direct tv continue to heavily promote their spanish programming package throughout the country to a lot of current verizon customers to try to get them to switch to their multi-latino packages because they have tv venezuela, sur peru and mega tv which verizon did have but they no longer have it. As for fyi i have spoken directly to the man who is responsible for making sure that the verizon guide is up to date where his team of 70 techs at fyi are supposed to monitor the guides of not only the two companies that i mentioned but the guides of foreign countries too. One thing that i can tell you and anyone else who reads is to trust me when i say this there are big changes coming as far as the guide provider is concerned that i will not go into on here but the changes will be to the benefit of the customer where i and a few other customers are going to get them to make the necessary changes to fix the guide.

Good luck, and I hope you can push the progress. The other night one channel said it was playing the same program all night, and it was actually another. You know one of those marathon nights. Don't remember what channel or what content. It could be FYI is updating the content and VZ is not updating the boxes? Who to blame or make it right?

Oh yes. I have had a DTV dish and two STBs for almost a year now. If Verizon would listen, I would give them $15 a month instead of $11. They could probably even get more money if they could out do DTV. I dropped the VZ spanish package the first week I signed up. That has been a long while. Now my DTV goes up in Jan after the first year. Not sure what the termination fee would be. Probably equal to what the full price of DTV would have been for the first year if added together. Perhaps even more. Most likely more.

UPDATE

Looking to drop DTV, not FiOS, if I could get some programing from Peru to please my spouse. Getting rid of DTV would actually pay for the FiOS spanish package and another DVR.

Thank you for responding to me prisaz. I also want to make it clear to the verizon employees who will be reading this that epix 2 is now off too. Whatever problem that is currently affecting epix channel 395 sd and epix 895 hd is now affecting epix 2 channel 896 hd. For the past 2 hours the guide had a johnny depp movie called "benny and joon" listed on the guide and in reality the movie that is playing is "chinatown" with jack nicholson where now a movie called "hoosier schoolboy" is supposed to be playing but istead it is still "chinatown." In response to your question and for everyone else out there who is curious as to who is at fault for the guide being so wrong it is mainly fyi's fault but verizon is also to blame too. Fyi is being paid by verizon to make sure that every single channel that is on the guide is running the latest schedule from the channel but they are not doing that. So what happens is that you create a ticket about the guide being off and then it may at some point get to the network group whose job at verizon is to make sure that everything is up to date. When they then receive the ticket or if they receive it they must then send out an email to fyi to notify them that people are complaining about certain channels having old data and schedules from the past that bear no resemblance to what is playing on the channel. If you want anyone to blame it is that network group of engineers that is in verizon who when they receive those tickets they should immediately send out an email to fyi to correct any problems that currently exist. That does not mean though that fyi will make the necessary changes because it is their call as to whether what you are saying is wrong is worthy of altering to make it correct. Now i know that sounds crazy that someone who is being paid to make sure that everything is up to date is making decisions whether or not to correct things but that is the reality of what is going on. Just because you see issues that exist with the guide it does not necessarily mean that they will alter things to make them to be the way that they are supposed to be. Starting tomorrow though there will be a lot of pressure that will be put on all parties involved to give verizon customers what they are paying for and fyi along with verizon will have to get their acts together real soon or both of their bottom lines will be paying a significant price for failure to provide services that they are being paid for.
