My entire household is full of sports fanatics and we Love FIOS and are happy with the triple freedom package……BUT…….but are having a hard time figuring out what we can and can’t have when it comes to FIOS TV?!?!?! Ok fine we can’t get the Sunday ticket because that is a package Direct TV has rights to it………all though Verizon owns them now?? (I think) or at the very least is a partner with Direct TV so why not partner up and offer all your customers this wonderful benefit??……especially since there are some of us that don’t have the option to have Direct TV due to being Unable to get a HD signal……..And now on to the reason behind my rant……..now when I call there is no telling us a straight answer about if we can get the NBA league pass?!?!?! Yet It certainly is always listed on the advertisements and in the guide (channel 1495 – 1499 where we are), yet no CSR can tell you if this package will or will not be available….only that the ESPN game plan (college football) will be?!?!?!
Come on someone give it to us straight as to what will or will not be available, enough with the false advertisement. I’m not hating……. like I said we love the service we have with FIOS…..our only complaint so far (we have had FIOS about a year now) is about not having sports packages available??
So if any can anyone out there tell me honestly what sports packages I can expect to be able to get or not???

SportsFan,
As far as DirecTV, no Verizon doesn't own them. Yes, Verzion does offer DirecTV as part of a bundle. However, the exclusive Sunday Ticket is between the NFL and DirecTV only (through 2014). You can only get Sunday Ticket with a DirecTV satellite. I feel your pain too, as I do not have an area of "exclusive access" to place a dish. It is what it is, and only the NFL can change it.
Verizon will be offering, as of Sept. 10, the Red Zone channel for $49.99 for the season.
As far as NBA League Pass and the other PPV Sports, I have found that Verzion and Time Warner (my old company) do not have the susbscription in their systems until about a week or so before the start of the season. Verizon and inDemand (who sucks, IMO) could not reach an agreement in time for the 08/09 season, however all indications are that the NBA League Pass will be available in time for the 09/10 season. I would expect it to be orderable in the mid-October timeframe.
