FIOS TV is REMOVING TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network)

FIOS TV is removing TBN (channel 795) and replacing with completely different channel that is not worth watching. I watch TBN everyday, therefore I will be cancelling my Triple play and use consumer reports to lower our bill using other internet provider and streaming service. Comes out to $100 less for the same channels and internet. Comcast was much faster and had about 100 times more content On Demand. I saw a slowdown with FIOS on internet. I am PC person and had ways to measure it. Comcast remote is also much easier to operate with less key strokes for same manuevering. Comcast also let us keep our email forever. I still use our comcast.net email address for 2 years now and I really like it. Nice company but after contract they raise your bill every month. All these comparisons are for the same price. Downside to Comcast: Not all movie channels are HD, be very careful of this, check carefully before going into a contract with them. In July 2016 (not sure now) only the main HBO or Showtime Channel was HD and the rest were SD. And you know there are about 10 HBO and Showtime channels. Comcast does not have One America News Network, the only non-fake news. So I guess we will be going with Roku and a less expensive internet provider. Get this, airwave channels are now better than cable! They broadcast in 4K, seriously. Get good digital antenna and connect to all your home cable wires and use the same coax cables. Put antenna in your attic. Find direction of towers using online help, which also shows channels available by antenna in your exact location (and which direction).

The final word from TBN is that TBN is IN NEGOTIATIONS with Verizon. And TBN most certainly wants to have FULL HD TBN back on Verizon. So "TBN and Verizon" are in negotiations directly with each other. Sounds like Verizon wants more money because LovewordUSA paid to push out TBN. (Inside Scoop)

To view SD TBN channel 295...1) make sure that in Settings (not hard to find, only buried about 2 levels) "Autotune to HD Channels" or something with close name is turned OFF. 2) Use the blue Options button on your remote and change the setting from HD Channels to either "Subscribed Channels" or "All Channels." (It WILL take LONGER for the menu to come up as it has to list out more channels than, for example, HD channels before the menu displays on your TV. (A menu can not be shown until the software or firmware lists out all the channels and content of each, only after will the process of displaying the menu start.)

Some other details: If you set up a schedule to record awesome stuff like Pastor Robert Morris on TBN, now 295 SD, make sure you (in Record with Options) select "All" for types of channels instead of HD (in the Record w/Options...after pressing the red round button for the second time.) Now record options will record both SD and HD (really full HD) broadcasts. You should also set up your default "Record w/Options" settings within the DVR selections. What I mean is that in the menu below "Display Recordings"(?) at top of VCR selections, go down and one of the lines will be setting up exactly what will come up first, or as the default, whenever you select Record w/Options. It is easier to set it up in the default so when you do engage in pushing the record red button a second time then most all the settings are where you wish them to be and you will not have to change as many or any of the Options when you record. Like "Keep All shows or Keep only 1 show."

Lastly you can set up a Favorites1 or Favorites2 instead of selecting Subscribed or HD channels or All Channels for the menu you display. You could put only your Jesus Channels in Favorites1, HD and SD and that is easier. Anyone smart enough to be concerned about eternity can go from here with their own creativity.

Says who?  Where?  And do you mean they are simply  giving up CH795 or that they are leaving CH295 too?   (They were on 295 long before they added 795)_

I believe this was on messages in STB.

• TBN Trinity HD (795) will be replaced with Loveworld USA HD. TBN Trinity SD (295) will remain.

• WOW HD (658) will be replaced with Gem Shopping HD. WOW SD (158) will remain.

These are provider driven changes.

So Verizon had no choice. It is still available on 295, but provider is offereing other content for HD.

Hate to break it to you, now that Net Neutrality has been repealed get ready for increased net and streaming fees in addition to overall higher internet costs. That is why the Cable companies got their puppet to drop Net Neutrality, so they can charge much higher fees.

What do you mean by

If it's still available on 295 then that is a Verizon decision. Will it still be in HD or just SD?

Only a few providers carried TBN HD nationwide.

Its possible the provider has pulled their HD channel and replaced with Loveworld.

Says FIOS. Message when you go to ch. 795. But the message stopped on today on 3-1-18. Today the menu is the same as it was TBN shows but TBN shows are not being broadcast. The menu is incorrect today. ...The "menu" shown DOS NOT MATCH what is broadcast. You are correct, ch. 295 is still there. One helpful note to others who need to change to SD: Your STB most likely is set to bring up an HD channel if you select an SD channel that is the same broadcast. Since the HD channel for TBN (795) still has the TBN menu, which is now not the broadcast on 795, when I select channel 295 (TBN SD) it will not take and goes immediately to ch. 795, which is NOT TBN as all described above. It does this because the ch. 295 and 795 menus match. And the 795 menu does not represent what is broadcast. I know there must be some setting for it not to do that but I haven't found it yet. If it involves switching all content to SD then that is NO FIX as everything else I watch is HD. Time for Google Search (faster than fios is to ask the good people out there directly.)

So it is the "provider's" decision. If it's true that is very helpful.

As of today, March 1st, TBN is only on SD. HD channel 795 is some other content but you have to select a show on the menu because the menu is showing TBN shows still today. In other words, the menu on 795 is wrong. It is all new content if you click on 795 to view. None of these shows that I have seen so far are even remotely related to TBN. The source of the shows seems to be from a network based in Capetown, South Africa (?) All the great teaching like Pastor Robert Morris is gone. To watch on SD, I have to figure out how to keep it from automatically switching to HD, because the menu on 795 matches the menu on 295, but shows on 795 are WAY different. Please see my other Reply from today.

My knowledge of TBN is that it IS THE PROVIDER. THEY HAVE OVER 100 CHANNELS WORLDWIDE. IT MAKES NO SENSE THAT TBN WOULD HAVE A PROVIDER. But, I'm not an expert about this. I do contribute about every month to TBN charities to feed people who are starving and need clean water. So I am more than one who just watches TBN, I also get news from them concerning the status of TBN and projects worldwide. TBN is a Network of stations, for many decades and they are expanding rapidly. I don't get it at all that they would go through another provider and be removed when they are getting record contributions and growing financially and all other ways. Their motive is to reach as many people as possible. The idea that a provider would remove them makes no sense. There has to be a better explanation. There is always the web to watch TBN.org. Thus my statements about streaming and "cutting the cable" which is the name of the Consumer Reports article from about 3 months ago. I just mentioned Consumer Reports in my first post. Now you know exact what I meant. I write way too much as it is. Just trying to be helpful. None of my posts are meant to put down any cable provider. I was just stating + and - of both. To give others ideas of their options. If any of my posts sound mean spirited and not in love please let me know.
