FiOS not available on OWN app

I download most of the channel apps- ABC, NBC, etc and you can register by logging in thru your cable provider. I recently downloaded the OWN app and Verizon FIOS is not available even though I have this channel in my package. Anybody know why that is?

Because own is part of the discovery family.

And Verizon does not have access to any of the discovery family of channel apps.
