Fios Quantum Premium IPC1100/VMS1100 Remote model numbers?

I'm interested in upgrading to fios quantum tv premium (the unit with 2TB storage.) Is the model number of that unit the VMS1100? 3 calls to customer support, live chat and reading the PDF instruction manual didnt answer my question... What remote controls ship with the IPC1100 and the VMS1100? will my existing P265 Rev 3 remotes work?

If any of you have the VMS1100, could you look up the remote model for me, please?

Thanks

Just to make sure you understand, when you order Quantum TV Premium service you will get two VMS1100 boxes, each with 6 tuners and 1 TB of hard drive space. The two boxes are each exactly the same box you would get with the Enhanced service.

And as hlppls said, you can use your existing remotes. In fact you can use any Verizon remote, they all work with all Verizon STBs (but of course not necessarily with newer TVs with new and different codes).

Wow, thank you Justin! That was what was confusing me... that both services had the samer model number. is the e-sata port available for external hard drive on the vms1100? I have a 1tb external drive connected to my existing Multi-room DVR, so if it is, I'll still have 2 TB storahe with one vms1100...

Are you sure all the remotes will work?  According to VZ website the Phillips RC1445302 is not compatible.

"The FiOS TV Remote Control is compatible with the following Set Top Box Models: Motorola/Arris DCT 700, QIP2500, QIP6xxx, QIP7xxx, and Cisco CHS 335/435. This remote is not compatible with FiOS Quantum Set Top Boxes (VMS/IPC).

It can control up to 4 devices and has partial backlighting. The remote control requires some programming. Programming instructions are included with the purchase of this item. The remote control supports most major TV brands and models sold within the last five years in the USA. It requires two AA batteries (not included)."

I really want to be able to use the 4 device remote instead of the 2 device (P265) so I can control my home theatre as well.

Thanks,

I think I have at least one of every Verizon remote other than the Scientific-Atlanta and the P283 Big-Button ones. I just pulled out an old RC1445302 remote (pulled the batteries to make sure of the model) and tried it on my VMS and IPC and it worked perfectly - power on/off. Guide, Menu, Info, channel change, last, rewind and forward, pause, etc. Now I did not try every possible function, but everything I tried worked.

I think that statement is just flat wrong.

OK, the remote works with the STB.  What about TVs and Receivers?

Mine works with my almost 9 year old TV, I have no way to tell whether it will work with yours, and I don't have a receiver.

Why your concern? If your TV or receiver is more than 2-3 years I would bet it will work with them. If it is a newer TV or receiver, the TV and receiver manufacturers seem to enjoy changing the coding for remote operation for no obvious reasons, and thus older remotes may not work with newer equipment. In that case you would probably need to buy a programmable remote.

What you could do is post the specific TV and receiver brands and models and see if anybody who has that remote can confirm that it will, or will not, work with those boxes. This is the best I can suggest.
