Ever since I upgraded to FIOS Quantum, I am having a problem. I used to be able to switch back and forth between 2 channels and was able to back up on each if I missed something. Now it works sometimes but most of the time when I switch back to the prior channel, I cannot back up. Is there a secret to this? Also, the reminder does not work at all.

It does not work on the IPC's. The IPC only has access to one tuner. It requires two tuner to make the function work. The live on demand feature of the service may make you think it is working, but it is not.
VMS has has up to 6 tuners depending on service. The VMS feed all of the IPC's. The VMS can only tune to a channel with one tuner. If you have a VMS and 4 IPC's and each is on a different channel 5 tuners are working. If they all are on the same channel only one tuner is working and it feeds all of the boxes.
On an IPC If you change to a channel that is on for a another IPC or the VMS, you will be able to to rewind live tv even though you just turned to the channel. This feature is called Live on demand. this is also how you can pause in one room and continue watching in another room.
The VMS has access to two tuners and the last button switches between last two tuned stations. Change the channel three time and the buffer for the first channel is gone.

This is a step back. I understand the addition of the live tv function but consider watching a couple of basketball games. In the past you could switch between two games and not miss a play. Now that is not possible, I find this unacceptable.
