I am using the Verizon Fios mobile app on my iPad to watch shows recorded on my DVR at home while traveling. However, lately the video playback keeps freezing and then displaying a black screen with audio playback continuing. I have tried logging out and logging back in without resolution to the problem. Any suggestions how to correct?
Are you connected to a fast wifi network? Have you tried rebooting the iPad? Tried clearing the cache for the Fios app?
I have tried rebooting but cannot figure out how to clear cache in Fios App. The WiFi network is strong.
One way is to uninstall Fios app, reboot iPad, reinstall fios app.
Same problems. Fios TV app, on two different iPads, in our house with brand new FIOS WiFi router and gigabit internet service. FIOS TV app lags and freezes. Occasionally crashes. This seems to be a problem with the app considering all of the infrastructure in question is provided by Verizon FIOS. Tried deleting the app, rebooting iPad, and reinstalling. No improvement.
Yes, I switched to fios after many years of xfinity. Love everything about fios but… the xfinity mobile watching app smokes the fios mobile app. With xfinity I got a quality image in hd consistently on my iPad. With fios it keeps stalling to a black error screen and even when it is working, it’s a low bitrate image with heavy compression artifacts. They need to hire a firm to rework the app pronto.
