Fios moving scenario

hello,

i'm moving out of my house to a new apt (fios is OK in our new location).  i'm using fios' quad play with my cell.  i know i have to bring my STB and router with me, however my parents are still living in the house and i want them to have fios.  i have a few special discounts for switching from directv and i want to keep that in the move (is that possible)?  the plan (so far) is to create another account for my parents that just has TV & phone (they dont use the computer).  what kind of timing should i plan for with leaving the house and getting it in the new apt and turning on a new service (all the equip is ready here) in the old house.  anyone have any experience or could offer some suggestions with when we should execute the move? how long does it take?  will i be left w/o services for a period of time? just not sure at this point.

thanks!

As far as I have been able to tell, you won't be able to take your discounts with you. Moving your service breaks the contract, as the contract is linked to the address not the person. Do a search in the "general residential products and services" forum and you will find lots of post about this issue.

As far as the lead time, every area is different. You have a couple of options that I can see. You can use your original install time to guess how long they would need or you can call them up and schedule the install to see what the wait time is. In Oregon they are really good about showing up on the scheduled day but I have read posts from other areas where they never showed and had to be rescheduled. I would leave a week cushion between the install and move in date if you can. Incase there are problems.
