how to find out if there is going to be a free preview weekend on the premium channels

Typically information is posted on one of those channels sites, and sometimes you'll see an announcement when you turn on your TV.

Free preview are worthless unless you just want to watch free movies. The providers always put the best programming on during the preview and then after you subscribe it goes to ^$%$. I have always found this with every provider. It is not a Verizon issue but HBO Cinemax, Showtime or what ever.

Verizon sends out STB e-mails when a preview is scheduled. I'd have to say their good about it and leave me when I see one. I used to have DirecTV and they were notorious for not informing subscribers for previews. So on this Verizon definitely knows what they're doing.
