I have noticed that this year, inDemand is offering more HD channels than last year (I believe 7 HD channels). However, FiOS includes only two of these channels. Why not the others? Center Ice/Extra Innings packages cost enough money that we should get the full benefit of all HD channels offered.
Looking at the HD schedule, they now have 9 HD channels.

I have heard rumors that Verizon is adding these, but there's no timeline except for "not in time for the beginning of the season". If you are planning on buying the package, don't expect that these will be added this season. They might show up, but I wouldn't bet on it. One interesting thing I noticed about the HD schedule in the link is that every US regional network and most Canadian outlets seem to be represented except one- MSG HD. Looks like the Dolans won't even share their precious HD feeds with the NHL!
I am a subscriber to the MLB and NHL packages. When I signed up for the 2010 NHL season, I was told that all the games should be in HD by the end of the season. It never happened.
When I signed up for the 2011 MLB season, I was told the games should be in HD by September. I didn't even ask when the 2011 NHL season started.
This is very frustrating because most cable operators and both satellite operators offer most, if not all games in HD. I subscribe to the packages because I live in Southern VA and my favorite teams are the LA Kings and LA Angels (of Anaheim).
I would appreciate an answer from Verizon as to why they do not carry all games that are offered in HD right now and when they plan on doing so.
Thank you.
While a Verizon employee may occasionally post here, this community is meant mainly for peer-to-peer support. If you need to talk to a Verizon representative, you should contact customer service directly.

I would contact a Verizon rep directly but I have no confidence in their answers or that they even have the information to correctly address my concern as evidenced by my interactions with Verizon agents as stated in my original post.
If you look at the Center Ice Daily lineup, they now actually put an asterisk next to the game if it is shown in Standard Definition only otherwise it is supposed to be in HD. The fact that we still have only 2 HD channels is a travesty. It is horrible watching a SD feed of a game that is actually being broadcast in HD, because the screen is shrunk by about one third.
Get with it FIOS, and give us the HD that we are paying for!!!!
