Based on your 4 1/2 star rating for Devils Due on on deemand,, I rented it, only to find that it was by far one of the worse movies I ever saw. After researching popular movie sites on the net I found that it was panned by every one of them as unwatchable and embarassingly derivative. Had it not been for your "glowing" rating I could have saved myself $4.99....so anyone reading this please do NOT go by the rating on the on demand site at the risk of being burned.

Never go buy the ratings you see, they are USER (i.e. viewer) generated. If you haven't noticed when you go to the movie information screen one of the selections is "rate this movie". The ratings you see are just a compilation of what the users input. They are really pointless, but Verizon customers whined about not having any ratings so that is what we were given. Research the movie on those other websites first not afterward.
Caveat Emptor.
I agree! There should be a place for viewers to rate the movies like how Amazon let's you rate and comment on the products. I just paid 6.99 for the WORST TEEN MOVIE EVER (Very Good Girls) for my daughter. Would NEVER have spent the money if somebody had warned me. 😞 PLEASE FIX THIS VERIZON!
Fix what exactly? Viewers ARE rating these movies. That's what the amount of stars indicate. As with any rating - viewer or critiic based - opinions will differ.
I don't understand this either. Obviously if users are giving good ratings for the movies then those people enjoyed it. Just because they like a movie it doesnt mean you will and just because you like a movie doesnt mean others will. Dont go by ratings. Watch the previews online and judge for yourself. When I'm interested in a movie I never go by others reviews. I go by what I find interesting and my taste in movies. Also, you're not going to enjoy every movie you watch.
And one more reason they ratings are often to high. The people rating them are the ones that have rented them. They are also probably already fans of the Movie, actor, director, whatever, and so think the movie is great even if the average user think its a real dog. This is different than the average ratings sites where movies are rated by the whole subscriber base and major critics.

You completely missed the point!! The ratings you see ARE viewer driven and YOU can rate each movie by going to the information screen for each one.
There is nothing to fix.

Considering I put little faith into the tastes of most viewers (proof, when the god awful Transformer movie makes 1 Billion dollars) I find the ratings useless to begin with.
