I went through and made a favorites list to make sure that we didn't have those lovely porn channels with descriptive titles come up (which has happened twice with the 10 yo in the room already). However, the guide keeps changing back to "all channels" even after I set it to "favorites". I want to make sure that if she's using the guide in her room she can't see those channels/descriptions, and parental controls only work for the content, not the channel descriptions. How can I fix this?
I have the new DVR and STB btw.
thanks

You can set the default to stay on favorites. But this will not stop them from being able to switch back to all channels.
To set select menu, settings, favorites, flipping by favorites.

I gave up on trying to make the Guide to stay inn "subscribed" mode...
Instead I followed a train of thought like yours and setup "favorites" and now just use the favorites button (on my controller it is on the eright side above the "last" button) instead of using the Guide. Hope this works out for you also.

This is not good. Verizon changed the guide and it defaults back to all channels. It did this on the non-HD boxes and now it's doing it on the HD DVR boxes. It's a pain in the butt. They need to fix this.

I think if all of you experiencing the problem of the Guide not retaining the Favorites setting will take a look at this post and take the actions described there, that the problem will be fixed. The 1.9.1 Guide update reset a couple of settings.

Also make sure these two features are enabled
Menu>Settings>Television>Modes = ENABLE
Menu>Settings>Television>Last Guide State = Enable

Consider going to Settings, favorites, and setting button to flippling by favorites instead.

I just got the 1.9.1 update, and I was also getting the "Revert to All Channels" problem.
I discovered a new setting that appears to have solved the problem.
For me it was: MENU/Settings/Television/Last Viewed Guide State=Enabled
It seems to be working, and now "My Favorites" are really MY Favorites again.

PS - there are a lot of new settings that I don't remember seeing before... like being able to set the brightness of my front display. I have a new Motorola 7232.
