Why do shows in the guide say “new” and I have my dvr set to record only new episodes, and the episodes aren’t new at all !  It’s annoying when I’m thinking I’m going to see something new and it’s a rerun !  This has happened numerous times with numerous shows.  Something really needs to be done about this, tired of dvr-ing reruns,

Do you have an example? I have a VMS DVR and don't have those issue.

I have seen that on some Discovery and History channel shows.

They mark them as new when they really aren't.

Check the episode number.

Usually I see them as Season X Episode 0
