HD on other TVs? (New to FiOS)

Hi there,

On Friday my family got FiOS internet & TV hooked up to our new house as we recently moved. While I don't know what plan my dad got, I know one thing - the main TV in the family room has the regular and HD channels. (Such as Nickelodeon and Nickelodeon HD)

On my laptop I use the HP USB TV Tuner to get/record TV shows on my laptop. It's hooked up to that Mororola Digital Box or whatever that's the length of an iPhone & a half or so. The thing is, I get regular SD channels, but no HD channels the TV in the family room gets such as Discovery Channel HD or Cartoon Network HD.

How do I get these HD channels on my laptop? Why doesn't my laptop pick it up? When I go to the HD channel it's just black. An example would be Nickelodeon, in SD. That loads:

Do I have to purchase something in order to get the HD on my laptop too? If so, how much is it?

WHich box do you have? Based on your words are you refering to the digital adapter? Or one of the full STBs?

If you don't get menu or guide, then it is the digital adapter. That is SD only. If you do get menu and guide, then if box is 2500, it is also SD only.

I have the dct700 thing, which I believe is just a digital adapter. Would I need a second box thing for HD on my laptop?

You would need and HD set top box in order to get HD channels.  This would be in place of your DCT700.
