Why are my QAM channels in the 5000 range and not the typical 2.1, 8.1, 12.1 etc? I pay for interent and local channels only with Verizon. I don't have a STB, cable goes right into my TV.
Not sure what you mean by in the 5000 range.
Do you mean that the channel numbers are 5000?
That means your TV is not picking up the psip data.
Yes the channels numbers are in the 5000 range on the HDHomeRun, forgot to mention that. If I connect the TVs directly to the cable with no box the channels are like 71-630. which is NBC. Both my TVs and older panasonic and a Samsung that is about 8 years old both have QAM tuners. Any idea? Are they even sending the psip data?
Did you ever figure this out? I’m in Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg with FiOS local channels only, using HD homer in and my channels are in the 5000 range as well. I get TWO channels that seem to get PSIP data. 21 and 33 I believe.
Would love to hear if you stumbled on anything! Thanks.
