Instead of having the small white print over this brightly color coded background which clashes and is hard on my eyes, why not use black print instead? This is just for the list of all the TV stations that I scroll up and down, not for any of the individual listings in larger print. When I hit the "guide" button on my remote twice, it has black print over the colored background for the listing on one TV station. Whose idea was it to use white print? I intend to keep my analog TV until the day it stops working or until the day when it's displaying poor picture quality. I already tried turning down the brightness and contrast on my TV and when I do that, it makes the picture quality worse. That's just how my TV operates when certain colors clash and have little "sparks". The picture quality is fine and my main objective is just to watch certain programs.
But please at least change the color of the small white print on the guide listing. Given all this money I am paying per month now just to watch TV and have all of these extra things included that are not really the most essential, I think that's only fair.
I agree that they should have done some more piloting or focus group testing because the graphics are difficult to read. The thing I'm finding difficult now is finding the real time and being able to know which time slot I'm looking at while I'm using the on-screen guide.
The other thing I don't like is that when you turn on your TV and the program synopsis comes up on the bottom of the screen, it's a lot bigger and now takes up a third of the screen. It was easier before. Why does there have to be such a big graphic production with bright colors in the background all over TV guide listings? I think it's garbage. I just want to watch my programs.
Of course another option available is to buy the Sunday newspaper and use the TV guide listings from there. What a novel thought...buying a newspaper and reading news print instead of relying completely on the TV screen. lol Or I could just buy a TV guide from the supermarket checkout lines.
I was just thinking too that one of my co-workers has Verizon Fios and she has the flat screen TV and doesn't have those problems with reading the TV guide graphics. Oh well...I'm not replacing my analog TV until it stops working, like I have said.
Sorry Verizon, but I'm just not impressed.

I'm sure customer feedback had plenty to do with this. I don't really understand why people wanted this so badly but it is what it is.

Here's some feedback... make the old one optional, because the majority of us don't like the new one.

Really no feedback to give to support the old one while it was here, because there wasn't very much wrong with it.
Now this new one is just awful. For starters, the old one had 8 channels per page whereas the new one has 6. And that's just going off of functionality as opposed to its horrendous visual appeal.
I would definitely question that too the more I think about it. What customer feedback and from who? In all reality, who would have wanted this? I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I don't mean to go on and on but I just think the whole thing is stupid.
