I'm in need of a second box for my new TV and was wondering if there is a way to get a brand new box insted of a scratched and dinged used/refurbished box. If there is a way, please let me know. Thanks!

Only thing you can do that I know of is to go to a fios store and ask if they have any new ones on hand. Chances are though that they wont. With the new media servers out, getting a new 7216 or 7232 is going to be hard. I dont even know if new customers are still getting new multi room dvr's. Going to a fios store to get a box though is the best bet to at least be able to see the boxes they have. If not new you can at least get one that looks new.

Is there any other way to get a new box? There was a Verizon Store by me but closed down. Is it possible to get a new box over the phone?
You can only request a box - you will get whatever is in que at the shipping facility. As has been mentioned, chances are it will be a refurb since the new VMS came out and I doubt Verizon is stocking new 7232s.

A bit OT but what is the new VMS and when was it released? Is there an extra fee for it? If so, is it worth the extra price? Thanks.

Read the Video Media Server Installation Experience thread here, I included in the first post links to some information about what the VMS is, pricing, etc.

Just came back from a Verizon Store and I got a brand new box wrapped in plastic and all! Thanks for the suggestion. Out of curiosity, whats the difference between the gray colored and black colred box? And what is better? Thanks!
Gray boxes are older and ALL, by this time, are refurbished. The black boxes are newer and generaly better. The newest boxes are the VMS boxes and IP boxes for which they are charing a premium.

As I haven't hooked up my box as of yet, is the user interface the same between the new and old box or not?

Same interface on HD boxes for all the non VMS/IP boxes. The VMS/IP boxes use a slightly different (apperance) and very different underlying software.
