I can add an external hard drive? Great! Umm...how?

What is the standard capacity of a FiOS cable box's DVR?  And how large an external drive can it take? 

Also, is there a chance my box won't accept an external drive, even if it has a port for one?  Finally, what steps should I take to try and get an external drive going with my box?

Just a few more questions-

Will the shows stored on the two DVRs still show up on the DVR's menu together, under one series title, or will it show two different sets of episodes, one on the internal drive, one on the external? 

Is there a way to move recordings from the internal drive to the external?

Once recordings are on the external drive, can it be used to play the recordings thru a computer, or will those stored shows only be playable on a FiOS box DVR?  (And can they be played on a DIFFERENT box if there's need to exchange for a new box?)
