I can't shut off my TV. Just had Fios installed today!

I have no idea what to do can anyone help?

It sounds like you need to disable CEC(Consumer Electronics Control). First try doing it in the Verizon box.

Menu > Settings > Audio & Video > Video Settings > TV Input Control, press Disable.

If it still keep happening you will have to also turn it off in the TV settings. Google CEC and your TV brand since every TV manufacturer calls it something different. Fox example, Samsung calls it Anynet+ and Sony calls it Bravia Sync. 

Once turned off in both the STB and TV your TV will stay off.
