Well, VHO7 now has the 1.8 update. Unfortunately, now all VOD selections bring up a pixelated image and broken audio. Rebooting the STB has not helped. Something went seriously wrong with the implementation. Anyone else having this problem?
I haven't had any problems with my VOD since getting IMG 1.8 this week. It's possible that the download didn't complete or was messed up somehow. I've seen issues in the past where pushing out the release to a user again has helped with various problems for others. May want to call tech support and see if that might be the issue.
Actually, I did call after posting. It is a system wide problem in VHO7. Verizon is aware of it and they hope to have it remedied by around 5 PM. Hopefully. Hope there aren't other issues.
Yep, I'm seeing the same problem now too.
The problem remains. I made another call and spoke personally to a Tech operator. Now it seems that Verizon has been unaware of the problem! (Can't believe they haven't been flooded with calls.) I have a tech coming by tomorrow to check the wiring...it's possible that those of us who have had FIOS installed 2 or more years ago may have wires that aren't able to handle the upgrade. That could explain why some people are having the problem and others are not.
Of course, there is always the chance that I'll wake up tomorrow and find that it has been mysteriously fixed!
Well, VOD worked fine for me yesterday after the 1.8 upgrade. It's just not working today. That can't be wiring. Still not working for me tonight. Hope they get it figured out soon.
Is anyone else out there running into this problem?
Hey Film11, I noticed tonight that VOD was working fine on my SD box that I have in the bedroom. So I checked to see if I could watch SD VOD on my HD STB in the living room and the SD worked fine on that box too. I'll call tech support tomorrow and post what they say. I'm sure it will be something different than what the first two people told you 🙂
Yes...SD VOD is fine. It is only the HD VOD that has this problem. It has been fixed now...in fact, the tech was able to do it from his truck before he arrived in person. As it turns out, each box needs to be authorized to receive the 1.8 upgrade. Most probably were at implementation, but apparently not all. That's why some are seeing this problem and others aren't.
I just tried rebooting my STB again this morning and now it's working.
