Hi there. I have two media servers (the TVs they're connected to work flawlessly) and five IPCs (these don't work as well). On three of the IPCs, I lose connectivity to the media server fairly regularly. On one IPC especially, if I don't use it for a while when I turn the TV on I'm usually met with either a frozen image or a message indicating that the "troubleshoot wizard" has run and that I should hit the OK button to return to normal viewing. These aren't horrible issues because the TVs do work but it's a pain. I've replaced one of the IPCs already, to no avail. And they're NOT all connected the same VMS. Is there any way to deal with this other than a full reset on the router and then doing a cold INIT for these various IPCs/VMSs? Any help would be appreciated.
It could be a network issue.
Have you tried going into support and checking the moca rates between boxes?
I'll give that a shot. How exactly do I do that?
Hit button D on remote.
Go to connected devices
Hit OK
Select one of your STBs.
Hit Ok.
Select advanced diagnostics
Use the down arrow to go to page 2.
In the matrix is a list of speeds between devices.
For Quantum hardware, 600+ is ideal.
If you have much less than that, you have cabling issues.
Could be splitter or cabling.
I tested and they’re all 600+. Did a cold INIT to VMS and reset IPCs and still having frozen images. Time to take router back to factory settings? Would love to avoid that if possible but let me know.
Unless you have a lot of settings in router, its not that bad to factory reset.
you can save comfits on router and then import them back if if you want.
I would lean towards VMS being bad.
If you need to contact one support, I would contact them via twitter @verizonsuppport.
And make sure to let them know everythiunfnyou have done so far.
Yes except having issues with both VMSs (have seven TVs). Some of the IPCs connected to one, some connected to other.
