Local Spots Killing Viewing Experience

As a FIOS TV customer I am very upset about seeing the same junk slot commercials hundreds of times a day. The girl in her pajamas, the Gerber Life, and the Inventor Help commercial. The repetion of these commercials on multiple channels has me considering moving to Comcast or Direct TV. I can only assume the low cost you must charge these advertisers promotes this form of junk commercial.  I am writing to state my opinion that the minimal cost you gain by running these slots will in the end have countless TV watchers jump ship from your cable service.

Uh ... bad news for you there.   You have the same "local" slots junk advertising issues on those other providers as well.    Different advertisers, but the same general junk.

I have news for that girl too ... if she'd get out of her PJ's and put some clothes on and go out and go to a real school, she'd probably have a good job by now instead of whining about it.  Smiley Very Happy

I agree that the repeats are a pain, but I have another complaint (at least for VHO8) that really ruins the viewing experience (I can always mute commercials or leave the room to do something):

On several channels (Speed-HD is one) the local insertions are a full 10 seconds late meaning that when the commercial block ends the show has been back for 10 seconds.  Not a big deal, unless you are watching a live motor sport event and miss some of the action which can be fast and furious.

OMG!! I've been thinking the EXACT same thing. Those Commercials are the most annoyng things on. The second I see them I change the channel, they are so bad. What is even worse is that they are all really SCAMS anyway!!! That on-line college book is pure garbage ($100 value, laughable), the Life Insurance Policy is a totally unnecessary waste of money (I work in Life Insurance and can tell you first hand the policy they are pushing is worthless crap) and even the Inventor commercial syas nobody makes any money on their stuff (which I find hysterical). They are awful!!!
