My phone/internet went out last night, too late to go through troubleshooting then. Went through online troubleshooting when I got home from work this evening. Verified no dialtone on outside demarc, no WAN connectiviy on router. Started a chat to request a service call. Went through another 40 minutes of remote testing, no dice. Now I am told that a service technician can't be sent for2 days. Is this the typical response time for FIOS repairs? Not satisfactory.
Go to the power supply unit and battery backup unit and tell us what lights are lit up and what color they are. If you can go to the ONT and do the same.

Actually some people posting complaints would welcome 2 days for a service tech.
If you want peer to peer help supply some additional info such as what Telcoguru asked for.
I've just been told that it will take 4 days for outside service. The technician assured me that it was a problem on their end but, oh well! I also must be available all day waiting for them. While I wait for them, I'll research other phone companies in my area. (Probably just Sprint. It's Russian roulette, I know!)
In the meantime, I only have a pay as you go mobile plan. I forgot to ask if Verizon will cover the cost of my calls for these 4 days. Maybe just a set amount. Anyone ask for renumeration? Perhaps coverage if you went over your cell plan minutes? It seems there should be some level of renumeration if the service call is greater than 1-2 days (unless there is an ongoing catastrophe.)
What do you say, Verizon? I'll be calling you later, after I put more minutes on my plan.

They will not pay for your calls. If you read the terms of service that you agreed to outages are covered in it.
If service is down for a good amount of time they will sometimes give you a credit on your bill for it, but they are not going to pay for your mobile plan.
