Hi, i have the tripleplay(tv,internet,phone)
so recently i got a nighthawk ax8 wanted to make it a primary router and bridge the g1100.
i think by disabling wifi on g1100
and following a guide on https://kb.netgear.com/26748/How-do-I-install-my-NETGEAR-or-Orbi-router-after-I-ve-enabled-bridge-mo...
to use it as router
and then internet was working fine.
however when i tried use the remote widget from fios tv app it was unable connect to any of the top box.
Is there a way to get the app to work if the primary router is nighthawk? Or would i have to make g1100 as primary?
any help/guide would be appreciated
thank you
Other info
my g1100 has a ethernet in WAN port and well as a coax cable. i know ethernet is giving me the internet while coax is allowed the functionality of using dvr n the fios app.

TLDR; This is technically difficult to achieve without a Verizon router as the primary.
Verizon router negotiates with the STBs and create port forwarding rules for them in a dynamic fashion. Unless you know how to forward virtually all ports from Nighthawk to Verizon router, I would not recommend use your own router as the primary.

https://www.dslreports.com/faq/verizonfios?
section 3.1 is what you need. It is not that difficult if you follow the directions.
in certain cases you don’t need any Verizon router.
I use Netgear nighthawk without any Verizon anything but then I don’t use tv or phone from Verizon just gigabit service.
